based of a chinese folk lore, that a frog living in a well believes the sky is only as wide as the opening above it. this metaphor illustrates how limited perspectives can restrict understanding and growth. whether it’s sticking to familiar ideas or refusing to explore beyond one’s comfort zone, the well becomes a self-imposed boundary. stepping out — or even just peering beyond — can reveal an expansive world of possibilities, challenging assumptions and inspiring transformation. however, i believe that this concept can also be used to describe an avoidance mentality, especially when you knowingly enter a well and let that shape your perspectives.
